About to turn back Touareg and was just rear ended

I have a 2012 Touareg TDI. I'm very close to the turn in date.

I was rear ended tonight on the way home by an off duty cop. Nice guy.

The rear bumper now has a nice large crack and indent. Wondering if this needs to be fixed before I turn it back. Last Touareg that was rear ended took almost a month to fix because of parts, travel time, etc.

Does anyone know if you get dinged for cosmetic damage at turn in?

You won’t have any issues, I’ve seen manny cars almost wrecked there, and VW accepted them. As long as the car drives you won’t have any issues..

Congrats, you just won some money! Get a check from insurance and just keep the money. VW will not care at all whats so ever. At most, they will take extra photos of damages.

It doesn't at all unless it is undrivable or totalled. Seriously.
