FWIW, all current VAG engines have a 10k mile OCI listed. There are 2 different 2.5L inline gassers, and 3 different 2.0t engines, but they are all the same schedule as the BRM and the CPEA TDIs.
You would be shocked if you had your oil analyzed.boogieman said:sweet, good info on that post
never said I was right just been doing that way for so long it comes natural.
just doesnt seem that all that nastiness could be good sitting in the oil. but hey what do i know
You drive a European car...why would metric measurements suck? Your car IS metric.boogieman said:Ill give tdiparts a try next time, sounds good but what type do you use, theyve got so many different ones, and also how much do I order, I see it comes in liters.(metric sucks)
totaly understand that, nearest dealer around here is about a 120 miles away.

No rhyme or reason for doing so unless your injectors are completely gone...KARKS said:I have been reading through the oil change posts and wondering if the Intervals change once you go over a certain KM or Milage?
Called VW and they advised that now that I have over 200,000KM I should have my oil changed every 10,000KM instead of the previous 16,000
__. Did you call your national VW headquarters or did you call a dealer?KARKS said:(snip) Called VW and they advised that (snip)
__. Some gasser models (I think the high performance ones) had a problem with oil sludging and VW engineering/service recommended that stealers change oil at 5K miles (~8K kliks). Maybe stealers have the TDI confused with this (TDI's do NOT need oil changed at 5K except in the most exceptional circumstances). Or maybe they just want you to come in so they change throw away perfectly good oil and charge you for new - and the labor.KARKS said:Local dealer... and it sounded like they use it as a standard answer - I called back and talked to another service advisor.
The 2006 A4s had the BEW. That would be both Golf and NB. I think the Jetta went to A5 in 2005.5 so there may be few more BRM than you list, but yes that was limited production.kcfoxie said:Correct me if I am wrong but didn't all models move to the BRM engine in the 2006 year? If not that means the 2006 Golf and the Beetle (both MkIV) have the BEW and only the Jetta (since it was the only other car) has the BRM, which means there are less than 10k total BRMs in the USA?
