Folks,

I have a favor to ask: Could someone with a Jetta Bentley manual look up the wiring diagram for the Vehicle Speed Sensor G68? In addition to all my TDIs, I have a 2002 Jetta with an 01M transmission. I'm trying to trace the three wires from the G68 to the 68 pin (T68) transmission control module.

I have a Bentley manual for the New Beetle and the wiring diagram shows the following:

G68 TCM
yellow - T3/1 T68/pin 65
white - T3/2 T68/pin 20
black - T3/3 T68/pin 43

The wire colors on my 2002 Jetta don't match what is listed for the Beetle. If someone could post what the wire colors are and the pin location on the T68, I really would appreciate it.

I think I may have a problem with the wiring from the G68 as I don't have continuity to any of the pins to the T68 (according to the New Beetle wiring diagram). I want to make sure they are the same for a Jetta before cutting wires.

Thanks!

The Bentley diagram for a Jetta is the same as you have listed. They do, however, print a disclaimer that the wire colours may not be as listed.

Alchemist,

Thank you for checking. I was pretty sure the diagram/colors would be the same in the Jetta Bentley. Now to figure out where the problem is. Thanks again.

Folks,

Just to follow up: The G28 Engine Speed Sensor is not the same as the G68 Vehicle Speed Sensor. For some reason when I scanned with VCDS, I thought the G68 was the sensor on the front of the engine block. WRONG. It's located under the drivers side motor mount on the transmission. No wonder I didn't have continuity between the G28 connector and the TCM plug.

Lesson learned: Make sure you're checking the correct Speed Sensor.

I replaced the bad G68 with a good one from one of my parts cars. All is well.
