A/C Doesn\'t Work all of a sudden
Hi all, I hope someone can help with a problem I'm having with my car. I have a 1.9 Tdi Golf and all of a sudden and without any warning, the A/C has stopped blowing cold air. I have the climatronic system and when I press the 'auto' switch followed by the 'low' setting, the compressor normally kicks in (audible click heard in engine bay). This is not happening now!
I checked the feed going to the A/C Compressor using a multimeter and it shows about 10v irrespective of whether the A/C is turned on or off in the cabin. Has anyone had a similiar experience with their system at all please? And how did you rectify it?
What has me confused totally is that the feed going to the compressor is about 10v whether the system is supposedly turned on or off in the cabin (engine running at the time). How does the compressor engage/disengage then?
Any help would be appreciated, as I don't fancy VW doing a replacement trial on everything linked up before they find the problem
