My wifes a/c quit working on her 03 Beetle.....A/C clutch not ingageing...ck'ed Freon level-ok...ck'ed Fuses-ok...ck'ed engine cooling fans-ok. ck'ed for voltage at clutch and I'm getting a flashing test light. I assume this isn't normal? Can someone tell me what else I'm might be missing? Thanks in Advance

Just did AC clutch on an 01 bug. Test with multi meter Volts DC across both leads at the plug key on blower fan on, and AC button on. What are you getting? If you have desent voltage check the clutch readings on ohm setting, if it is open no reading it is time to replace coil. Good luck.

Does anyone know if this Voltage coming from the FCM? From all the info I've been reading is that the FCM has a relay for the A/C Clutch? I'm I on the right path?

13V is abnormal. Should be around 7-9V solid
At clutch needs to be battery voltage.

It is normal to have pulsation of the battery voltage when A/C compressor coil is bad.
Disconnect plug and start a car . Have someone is cabin with a/C button off. Put test lamp or voltmeter on Pin# 2 you need to have ground.
Put test lamp or Voltmeter on Pin #1 , Tell that person to turn A/C on , you should have Battery voltage for 1-2 sec then goes away. If this happen like this then your clutch is bad.
It will have Battery voltage only for 1-2 sec because it does not see resistance back form A/C coil.
