Good news: I'll be attending the show. Bad news: can't drive out this year because the situation at home doesn't all me three days away. I'm flying out Saturday for the day, hopefully PeterV, BeetleGo, and Jetter_Sprintah will join. So this means we'll miss dinner Friday night, and, my big disappointment, breakfast at the Bomber. But we will have time after the show to hang out wherever we end up.

Show opens at 10:00, right? I looked for the time on their site but couldn't find it.

...As long as IBW is going, I plan to tag along and provide running commentary.
I was clear that I meant IBW--THE CAR--right? :D

I'm still considering the jet-set option with BettleGo and the other IBW but will, regardless, miss all the other fun events--especially the Bomber. I'm going to cancel my hotel reservations. Does anyone need me to coordinate so you get the negotiated rate?

I have two rooms to cancel too. I'll wait a day or two in case someone needs them.

I have adjusted your survey and Chris's survey. BeetleGo and PeterV still need to submit theirs.

Show starts at 9:30am, which is when I will hand out the tickets. If you're going to be later than that, you can call me and I'll come out to the lobby and give you all your tickets.

I'm pretty sure I did the survey the day after Sprockette
It's done now though. Please let me know if you didn't get it.

Thank you! It looks like we land at 9:20 if all goes well.

Good to know, thanks!

I just made reservations for 20 at The Wurst Bar in Ypsi on Friday night at 8pm. We'll meet at the hotel as people arrive and then head over there at around 7:30 or so.

I need a pretty firm head count on who wants to race at JD karting.

Grand Prix style racing is $55 and gets you the following:
  • 10 lap practice
  • 10 lap qualifying
  • 14 lap race

A more casual option is time trials on a pay-as-you-go system. Individual time trial races are $18 each and are 10 or 14 laps (not sure which).

The minimum number of people for a GP is 6, so we could have some people doing a GP while others do time trials if the idea of a whole GP is a bit much.

Please let me know which option you prefer. :)

Grand Prix sounds good with me, but I'm not picky
How many people in your group of five will be racing?

It sounds like the GP is the popular option, so we will move forward with that. Anyone who wants to race outside of the GP group is welcome to buy individual races, although I can't guarantee when you'll be on the track or who will be on the track with you.

If we get more than 8 people signed up for the GP, we'll do qualifying rounds and then split the race up into the fastest group and the slowest group. That should keep things competitive during the race.

I have 3 for the Grand Prix. Myself, Nickrocks, and +1. I have texted KosherPowerhaus and told him he needs to get on here and fill out his survey if he is going.

Also, I'm dumb and can't count. If my brother gets off work, our group total for the auto show is 6, not 5. If Kosher does make it, and he fills out his survey, that would actually be 7 total. I know I'm making things difficult for you, and I'm sorry for that. If that throws anything off, don't worry about it, and we will just cover the extra cost. It's not a big deal.

I have no idea how you help organize these events. I can't even manage to organize 7 people, let alone a large group of people I don't see on a regular basis. You the man.

No worries on the head count. I won't be purchasing tickets until Monday or Tuesday. I appreciate the updates.

It's 2 tickets to the auto show for Logan and myself. That is what I indicated on the survey.

It looks like Carrie and I will be coming for the meet and greet and dinner at the Wurst bar. Looking forward to seeing everybody again.

Sorry for the change in plans but the Sprockets will only be attending the Auto Show and not any of the other events :(

We have family coming into town this weekend which is throwing a wrench in our plans...

We will see everyone Sat morn :)

No Fest!
No 'fun' stuff at the Auto Show!

We might start to take it personally that you don't want to hang with 'us' anymore! :):p

Unfortunately, we are unable to hit the minimum number of 30 people required to get group tickets. Please plan on buying your tickets at-the-door when you arrive. We can still meet at the Joe Louis statue in the morning and go in as a group.

Sorry the group tickets didn't work out, but that's how it goes sometimes. :)

^ Probably a bit easier on your too as you don't have to front the money and then make change for people.
Yeah I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. :)

Fortunately, regular tickets are only $13 each, which is a bargain compared to shows like DC which are in the $20s and are pretty pathetic as far as eye candy and bling.

And the auto show weather is now here. After thus far having a very warm winter, the frigid air has settled in. On Saturday it was 50 degrees, today it got up to around 13.
