Hi to all

This is my 99 B5 Tdi 110 bhp 166000 miles and drives mint
My car is totaly function over form with many plans over the next few months. Nealy all leading towards towing. The car has towing dutys with both our caravan utility trailer and jet skis on a weekly and somtimes daily ocurance. As i had a back injury last year i have to be very careful with everting i do. We currenty have storage on a farm so getting stuck does happen in the winter months. I have plans for a set of AT tyres possible 27" i think .A suspension lift is defenatly needed as the belly of the car catches the floor alot when on rough ground. Any ideas and comments welcome. All sugestions for the susension and tyre will be helpful .

Currently making a front bar like this

Please let me know what you think and your sugestions.

I lifted ove of my previous B5. I bought a kit from www.seikel.de it has TÜV approval, so its road legal, and it gives a nice lift. My 110bhp 4motion was never stuck in the snow with this setup. I ran 19" wheels, with still alot of space.

I have a couple of pictures here : http://s1276.photobucket.com/albums/y463/gjelsvik/Passat B5 Seikel/

Bullbar would be awesome! And it will make a perfect base for big Hella lights..

Hi there

Love your B5 wagon

Do you have any pictures of the kit that you bought????

I have taken a look at the link above and can't find it anywhere. How much was the kit? Just looking at tyres this week getting ready for the autumn / winter months

I have no pictures of the kit itself i think.

Its sold by Seikel, but both springs and shocks where from Bilstein.

You will need to send them an email I think, since the lift kit is not listed on the website. They are based in Germany, but emails in english where no problem when I was in contact with them.

Another option is the "bad road" package that is OEM from VW.

Thank you will email them tomorrow for some costs.

Going to take my spare set of wheels to the tyre fitters over the weekend to try different a/t tyre sizes and brands

Any updates on the bull/brush bar?

And where did you get the traffic cone+holster, and the rear fogs?

Mike

No updates on the bush bar as yet need to get going for the bad weather and dark nights.

The warning triangle is standard in a B5 saloon. Fits nice and snug in the tailgate and fantastic at night with the boot open. The lights are just universal lights off eBay. The boot area looks a little different now as there is refectve tape around the edges and flashing amber warning light s under the work lights aswell in the tailgate handle for working at night out of the car.

Sorry nothing exciteing to repot need to get motivated with it all

Any ideas or views welcome

Any progress with your build? I too would love to find a lift for my Passat but don't know where to go about finding one. :S I emailed the above company with no reply.

I also emailed them and got nothing back from them. I stripped all the front suspension down last weekend and took templates of the top mount to send to a local engineering company to make spacers for them will keep you posted.

Borrowing a pipe bender in 2 weeks time to make the bar so hopefully come on in the next few weeks

Any ideas are welcome
