I have a 99.5 Jetta TDI that after driving for a few days dies and wont start till it cools off. the first time it did this after my son ran it out of fuel.
I have done the following over a year ago.
New vnt-17
Replaced vacuum hoses
all filters serviced(recently)
ran diesel purge through IP(just did this)
Some times smokes on the first start(smells like fuel)
and when it is stalling it smokes baddly.
The injection pump was replaced just over12 months ago.
It has a little carter inline fuel pump by the tank.
This vehicle has 315k on the clock, cat delete, egr delete, ccv delete.
The injectors have NEVER been replaced, and this vehicle has been ran on BioDiesel for more than a couple of years, But it has been diffacult to to find localy so the last couple of years it has been ran on D Diesel with Power service.
