I have a 99.5 alh jetta 5 speed. I'm having really goofy electrical issues. I bought the car as like the 9th owner so it's been passed around... It's recently burnt up 2 radios within a month. Started fine Monday morning, then went out for lunch No crank, no power windows, no sun roof, no trunk actuator. But if I turn the key on, jump 12v from the B terminal to the S terminal of the starter, it starts right up. No codes in vcds. Power out of all of the battery box fuse box connections. No blown fuses. 109 relay works and conducts as it should. Clutch switch works, cruise control works, lights all work. I've also had some door harness issues with the car, and none of the power window switches work in the car since the no crank issue. however all of the lock switches work. I'm buying a rust free 03 gls jetta this weekend so the 99 is on the back burner, but it would be nice to fix and sell or keep as a winter beater.

There are just too many to list....
I would maybe try and check for a poor connection at the CCM...

The power windows, the alarm (so the starter inhibit function), the sun roof, the trunk latch actuator, all go through the CCM.

There are several connectors on it, maybe spend some time with a wiring diagram and see if all those related issues pass through one specific connector (I say this because some items like exterior lighting also may go through the CCM, and you said those all work).

I was able to look at the CCM this weekend, both plugs look good, no worn, loose, or burnt pins. I believe I might have a short somewhere in the driver door harness that fried a few things... Is the CCM a module that needs programed to each specific car? or is it something that is capable of everything and the car just utilizes what it has. I have an 02 parts car that I can grab one out of to use possibly.

I don't believe a '99.5 and a 2002 use the same CCM, but not positive. They'll have a part number on the unit itself, then VCDS will also show a part number in the data screen to that module.

All the car changes are soft coded (2dr, 4dr, sunroof, etc.) so that can be changed. The key fobs get programmed to the CCM as well, and VCDS can do that.

Ok, I might see if I can reprogram the ccm with vcds first, will a HEX CAN interface do that? I don't have a V2 yet...
