I have a B4V has 265k on it that has a vibration or shake when its cold and warm though it does a LITTLE better when it gets to operating temp a list of things I have done
all 3 mounts
new serpentine tensioner
new belts including timing belt kit
new Bosio sprint nozzles (thanks Landon and Bruce)
new vacuum lines all but the one to computer and red and blue to the turbo (lines and n75 are ordered)
new filters (air fuel and cabin)
new thermostatic tee
new optima (yellow top)
new AC compressor drier and expansion valve
injection pump from VW was installed 5ish years ago

The car has no bubbles in lines and runs great, 44mpg it used to get 49 still replacing stuff trying to figure that out. One thing I have noticed is that the front mount doesn't sit completely centered in the cup (maybe this is it how do i get it to center). Also there are no check engines lights on in the dash and the vag-com shows my timing is in the center thanks guys

Did you use the hydraulic or rubber trans mount? Also, did you use the correct B4 front & rear engine mounts or go with an A3 rear mount (hydraulic) or VR6 front and/or rear mounts? How about mount brands - Meyle or off-brand?

Some have reported NVH issues with the Meyles. There aren't any good alternatives to the OEM mounts, and they may not be available much longer as German old stock (and new stock might be Chinese by now, I don't know).

Meyle rubber products have generally been inferior even before they switched from Euro-sourced to Chinese.

It just so happens today that I went to the dealer to have them order a hydraulic passenger mount. It list for $170. If it is Chinesse I am passing on it. I hear that just this mount versus the Passat rubber passenger mount makes a big difference.

Maybe its time to consider adding a flex pipe section to your exhaust? Made my B4 feel as-new. I, too, had been considering motor mounts. Couldn't get the Search function up this morning so I'm sorry I can't give you a reference. Cost me $90 installed...a year ago. Most muffler shops can do it in 20 minutes.

No TDIs Currently, I have an R36 Corrado. I've had an ALH Corrado swap, AHU Corrado swap and 2003 TDI Jetta
Do you have Vag-com? If so what's the IQ set to? A low IQ setting will cause the engine to vibrate and shake.

My bud (speedfreak1984) has a vag-com and it was in the middle I think they are green and red lines. My vibration shakes the whole car surely the exhaust couldn't cause this right? As soon as you touch the gas(hehe) it goes away only on idle does it shake and vibrate.

the lines is for timing. The IQ is the Injection Quantity and I've seen idle issues with cars that have it set low (0-2.5 being low) most people recommend to have the IQ set between 4-6. Mine is at 4.2 or 4.6 IIRC.

Yes. Yes the whole car can shake. I couldn't believe it, either. Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. Here's a test: While on a lift (or otherwise raised with wheels not in contact with the ground, ask someone to push sideways or upwards on the exhaust pipe at the convertor while you are working the throttle. While in gear, keep one foot on the brake. This is an unsafe procedure for the person under the car. Be safe. You may be pleasantly surprised. The reason for lifting the car is to be able to reach the pipe...unless you can enlist one of those UNC round ball players?

Only the B4V left
It may be a combination of non-hydraulic motor/transmission mounts and the BK ECU idling at 860 rpm instead of 903 like the GQ ECU. I have turned up the idle on a few BK B4's and had the idle shake decrease.

I replaced a transmission mount with a non-hydraulic one and couldn't believe the extra vibrations it transmitted. It did settle down slightly after it was broken in, but it's still much more prevalent than my hydraulic one.

I just bought the last hydraulic engine mount in the country. It was made in Germany on 4/3/2005. There are 8 mounts on a boat on their way to NJ but they are shutdown due to the storm. He could not say the source but I guess they will be Chinese.

Another note to make is that my exhaust is causing my new vibration at idle and extra cabin noise. I opened my rear hatch and stuck my head in the car. When I lifted up on the tailpipe with my foot the vibrating of my dash and glove box stopped. Cabin noise also went way down.

I had noise from the exhaust once before when one of those steel chain hangers wore through the rubber and made a ton of extra cabin noise. I noticed this easily since I had just reconnected the hanger.
