Hello,

I am unable to find a good answer about what order to bleed the brake and clutch fluid on the 6 speed manual.

Some say to start furthest from the master cylinder and others say to start closest.

Do I bleed clutch first or last?

Thanks :)

Are you bleeding from the top down? Or bottom up (reverse)?
As in am I going RR, RL, FR, FL vs FL, FR, RL, RR?

I do not know, which should I do?

I don't know what order to do the brakes or the clutch.
I have found people saying to start furthest from the master cylinder as well as people saying to start closest. I haven't found anyone talking about when to do the clutch.

You are seeing different bleeding orders because there *are* different orders, depending on model and which ABS pump is installed in your particular model.

Ideally someone with the factory service manual will be able to weigh in and clarify it for you.

All the clutch does is get its fluid from the brake fluid resevoir, it has its own master and slave cylinder. Just bleed it after the brakes are done.

Bleed the clutch last. As above, the clutch gets fluid from the top of the brake MC. So, it the fluid goes below that level during brake bleeding, air might be introduced back into it.

Pressure bleeder eliminates the risk of fluid running low - just make sure you don't empty out the pressure bleeder. :)

Proper order on the Mk7 is nearest-to-furthest: LF, RF, LR, RR

And if you have mushy brake pedal, there are instructions for "post-bleeding" as well:

Code:
Hydraulic System, Post-Bleeding
Perform the post-bleeding procedure when:
The brake pedal travel is too long, or the so-called »soft brake pedal«
A second technician is required for the post-bleeding procedure.
– Connect the -VAS5234-
– Depress the brake pedal forcefully and hold.
– Open the breather valve at the brake caliper.
– Press the brake pedal down until it stops.
– Close the breather valve with the pedal depressed.
– Release the brake pedal slowly.

Note
This bleeding procedure must be performed five times per brake caliper.
Bleeding sequence:
1- Left front brake caliper
2 - Right front brake caliper
3 - Left rear brake caliper
4 - Right rear brake caliper
