Have had this set sitting on a shelf in my basement for a while now. Never got around to installing, and the car is sold.

They are aftermarket, made in Italy by one of the finest companies out there making aftermarket drivetrain components.

No washer included, just the gears shown below.

Please feel free to contact me thru PM or text 413-495-2607

Thanks for bashing my listing maxmoo? I'm just trying to get what I paid, that listing is definitely a good price, but I would appreciate you not putting that on this thread.

Thanks

I did not intend this to be a personal attack.....this kind of a situation does create a bit of a moral dilemma for me.

I consider this site to be a meeting place of fellow TDI enthusiasts, a place where individuals can learn and benifit from the collective knowledge and experience.

A place where we help each other.

It can also be a great place to find parts both new and used at reasonable rates....which benefits everyone.

I do not know how much you paid for the part or how long ago you bought it or why you are now deciding to sell it here.

But when someone offers a NOS part at more than the going rate to unsuspecting fellow members it bothers me a little.

This is the second time in a week that I have been called out for doing this......am I wrong for thinking this way.

I would welcome comments from others.

Yes, IMO sale thread bombing is wrong and the reason why most sites have deactivated the "reply" feature in their "for sale" sections, forcing interested parties to reply offline via PM's. Caveat emptor - its a buyers responsibility to research pricing/costs/features on their own. Your intentions are noble, but misplaced ...just in my opinion

great price despite the ebay units selling for less but it's still over $100 less than most vendors.... also the small bell washer must be used on the small gear or you will suffer gear contact with the stock washer .... i've modified the stock washer by chucking it into a drill via bolt and nut (centered carefully) then spinning it up against a belt sander until the diameter is reduced sufficiently.... hope this helps and glws !!

I disagree.
We live in America where it is our right to speak freely amongst each other and share information.

Living in the Information Age simply allows for the exercise of that right instantly across continents, and those who oppress that are shown the error of their thinking in forums just like this.

This site was based on the principles of sharing/spreading knowledge, not hiding it, and telling others it is their responsibility to discover that information on their own!

He did so in a polite and informative way.

He did not get angry, use profanity, or hate speech.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with information share or maxmoo's response.
I can understand how it might be upsetting to discover that something you are selling is less elsewhere, but please do not shoot or shame the messenger.

It is then, up to the seller to keep the same higher price or adopt more competitive price.

Is that necessary with all upgraded gear sets or just the one the seller is offering?

........Just as long as it is coupled with 'doing the right thing'.
Yeah, good luck with that one. The right thing today is the wrong thing tomorrow. Can you say "Pendulum"?

This has nothing to do with the thread, but it's a free bump.

Actually it does...."doing the right thing" should never go out of fashion.

Capitalism is fine if both parties benefit from the transaction....however if only one party benefits and the other gets screwed.....that is never "the right thing".

Caveat emptor. Each buyer is responsible for doing their own homework. Policing the MP to price check fellow members listings isn't decent behavior IMO.

Unless you are going to say "free bump," this is a thread hijack. There is an example of policing. :D

Saying, 'hey guys this can be found a little cheaper here..' Not policing.

..Free bump to OP for lower RPMs and cabin noise!
Does anyone know how this gear set compares to OEM taller sets? (Back to gears.. the reason we clicked this thread)
