507.00 spec Oil in Canada

I just upgraded from my 2003 and I am used to being able to go down to Walmart and grab some Rotella T when it is on sale.

Where can I purchase 507.00 in Canada? Do I have any options other than the Castrol from the dealer?

Well- not knowing specifically what might be available in the stores around Edmonton, elsewhere in this part of the forum is a link giving an extensive list of 507.00 oils. There are quite a number of manufacturers: Mobil, Lubri-Moly, etc.

Perhaps the Mobil 1/ESP 5w-30 would be available?

Read the FAQ about the oil manufacturers. Although Castrol meets the VW spec, it does not meet the CG4 spec and is not recommended by this forum. FYI...Mobil 1 has renamed their 5W40 to Diesel truck synthetic now. Walmart has it for $47 (4L) normally in Ontario.

I was in a canadian tire today and I was shocked to see Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 (which is a 507.00 oil) on the shelf! It's $12.00 a liter which is a bit painful but at least we've only got 15k drains. I will be running that in the 2010 that I keep an eye on, and probably also in my car which requires LL04.

Also saw 2 types of Mobil 1 Delvac - the 1300 non-synth and the 0w40 ESP. No prices on those

Castrol isn't recommended by this forum? The 507.00 oil is fine from them. Also, the OP says that he upgraded and is looking for a 507.00 oil. TDT is not 507.00 and is NOT recommended for a 507.00 car.
