Is that 2.5 5 the same as the old AUDI 5 cylinder? A Friend of mine has one in a '92 Eurovan. Can't remember if it has a timing chain or a belt.

I hope the new engine is a torque monster, because it is woefully short on HP-148, IIRC.

truman, it's not. The rags have already said that performance is marginal.
OTOH, 0-60 has been reduced to 9 seconds which I believe is down from 11 with the old 2.sL0.

it's not. i drove one on the Roadshow. It beats the hell out of the 2.slow for a base engine but for a 2.5 5-cylinder it's not fast...
