From what I see so far I think that we will have $3.50 a gallon or more.

I'm paying $2.85 now so its not that far away only .65 cents.

I hope that I'm wrong.

We had $4 and $4.50 ($5 in some areas) in the summer of 08, so $3.50 really isn't too far off of what is possible.

3.09 on the station across the road.

Offtopic, but said station recently dropped their BP affiliation, which sucks as my BP Visa got me 5% cashback everytime I filled up and the other BPs in the area are either out of the way or not truck friendly, so I worry about how fresh the fuel is.

I hope we don't see $3.50 / gal!

Been paying $2.80 - 2.89 for about the last 6 months now. Currently $2.85 to $2.89 at most pumps here in the Raleigh, NC area. Besides good BBQ and sweet tea, the South typically has lower fuel prices.:D But not low enough!!:(

Thunder- love your plate!

Right now in Toronto Diesel sells for about $0.92 per liter.

Now for the Math :p

1gal = 3.79L

$1 us = $0.99 cad

So, in Toronto, we are already paying about $3.52 US per gallon ...

and we export most of our fuel to the US

I paid $2.799 yesterday south of Atlanta at a Wal*Mart fuel station, which is between 10 and 30 cents cheaper than any other place I've seen this weekend. We'll see if the fuel is of any quality.

:)

See: http://www.torontogasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=D

You are paying more for fuel because of those extra taxes your government collects,
not because the 'have' provinces are exporting their surplus fuel South.

Your GST plus PST equals 13 percent alone. :(

Take that away, and your diesel is actually less than what we are paying here. ;)

Hmmm, no small coincidence that our high oil taxes were put in place by a Liberal government in the '70s in order to help pay for ever-growing social programs...

I think I may be around to actually see history repeat itself...

Oh, let us not forget the other taxes at the pump that you do not see...

For every liter of fuel here in Ontario, we pay:

$0.31 combined Local Excise, Privincial Sales Tax, Goods and Services Tax and Federal Excise Taxes
$0.14 Provincial Excise Tax

After those taxes are put on the fuel (before you pump it) you get smacked with another round of Federal GST tax at %5 on the sale at the pump. Now in June Ontario gets the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) where both the GST and PST get merged into one Tax, thereby adding even more to the cost of fuel at the pump...

Again this is a Liberal government trying to raise money for social programs, (Ontario this time)

Welcome to Socialism my good neighbors to the south

Why do we freak out about this? I'll worry when it costs me more than $70 to go 600 miles... (that's like north of $5.00 a gallon)

High petrol taxes are good. It's the only way to get through to people to waste less. Maybe consider driving something other than a Cherokee with a low compression V8 coupled to a torque converter automatic or some such.

It's not right that diesel is more expensive than petrol, though. Especially since it can lead to or excuse price hikes in other goods and amenities.

$5.19, cheapest diesel here.

Here, we call every attempt to make people waste less socialism. It's easier and more convenient ... LOL

Cheap gas/diesel, electricity and natural gas for decades, makes it very hard to give those goodies up .... other parts of the world have been doing similar for so long, I guess they are all socialists, right?

Do those other places give every citizen health care for free or next to it?

(then probably the answer is yes)

LOL....oh my silly friend....it is not free.

I pay more tax per year then the average canadian family, and american family make combined....and guess where it goes?? To fund some useless "healthcare" that in order to fully utilize, an insurance program such as blue cross must be purchased.

I say get rid of this stupid "universal healthcare" and shove it some liberal butts....the blue cross alone will cover what I need, at a far lower cost!!

Trust me my american friends....get rid of that useless lump of a government you currently have...or you too will lose more than half your income to pay for the useless idiot down the street.

Having several family members treated and cured of their cancer with no out of pocket expense. I find this very offensive. My wife and I make well over $125,000 a year combined and pay more in taxes in a single year then most make. I for one don't mind. My money goes to help people in need. Either heath care or income assistance. Sure the system isn't perfect, but it's better than being left to die because you don't have money! Shameful!

Come on down off that horse now, please.

Worms... I let loose a can of WORMS.... MUUAahahahahahahahahaa

Seriously though, when you look at the percentage of tax placed on everything related to driving, it adds up pretty quick.

On the other hand, we complain about $1.00 per liter of fuel, while drinking our 500ml bottled water that cost us $2.00 per bottle at the corner store. Come on now, that is F-ed up.... :p

Sucks to be you if you find it offensive...I have had many family members die from cancer because the system failed them and would not provide the treatment they needed. They were not willing to pay for proper treatments...too expensive they said. Blue cross would have covered them( but it was too late), not our crappy socialist society. Not too mention all the idiots who go on EI 6 months of the year, and welfare cases, and provinces with their hands out.

So maybe get off of your socialist horse, and come back to the real world.

I feel that the high fuel prices were the straw that broke the Camels back and put us in a Recession.

With more high fuel prices it will only take longer to recover.

I'm glad I put the New Michelin Energy Saver Tires on my car and did not trade it off yet.

Nah, it was the real estate bubble collapse and the sale of over-leveraged and uninsured mortgage securities that fueled it. High oil prices were caused by speculators and hedge funds..:)

it is what it is. pricing will go up for RUG as well, so al song as its not more then 30% cheaper (on average you're getting 30% fuel economy) you should be ok. your cost per mile should still be less then for RUG. and if not, o well, thats just life

Say What?

:)

Me thinks you forgot the correct name to use in that statement. :(

Wasn't it Bush and his oil buddies before?

BTW, I was not aware that Mr. Obama was 'in bed' with big oil?
