Anna Mae’s is within walking distance. They serve some German style food. No alcohol. Not really a good selection of restaurants but it is what it is.

I eat out very little so I actually come to tdicub.com for restaurant recommendations. My brother was able to get my tdi going again but I don’t know if I trust it enough to go to Ontario with it. I have a newer car that is not a Volkswagen that I trust slightly better for long distance driving.

Always down for a roadtrip through the US. I've done the typical trip across the upper states to Alberta and straight down to Florida and back up through Tennessee.

I've been substituting the annual Saab owner's convention for the TDIFest ....
.... I'm planning (haven't committed) to repeating the 2010 PDX TDI'fest cross-country trip driving the Saab.

Didn't make it. I got sick, (suspect food 'poisioning' from the speed at which it came on) during what was to have been a one-night stop in Sioux Falls SD. I was sick in the hotel for three days. That put me so far behind schedule that the weekend would be over before I got there, so continuing was moot. I turned and headed back home.

Even if its not a huge meet, I'm sure we can get something smaller with a group of us for a small meet up.

I'm assuming something maybe end of August or start of fall since it gives enough time to people to see and plan. I'm not sure whose on the FB groups but I'm assuming that would be a good place to post as well if its just a gathering.

The 'Fest shoes are indeed big shoes to fill. Seems like lots ov interest. Couple of things; one, the first attempt will not be perfect. Likely neither will the second. Don't let that stop ya. 'Perfection' when viewed from an organizer's POV is a lot different that from one of its enthusiast attendee's. Second, gather a wee bit o' help to organize. There is lots to do, so spread the work around. Lastly, do something. Smaller is decidedly a vast improvement over nothing...

When it Kirk's gtg? And I think there would need to be a couple people help set something up. I think maybe nothing crazy just yet like a small lot if possible. Just to gauge how many people come out.

Just found this the last Fest! 8 years now….My 2015 Jetta was best in Show! Still have the Car!

Damn, I was just getting into diesels at that point. I wish I went to one of these before they stopped. I wonder why they ended up stopping. I feel like they would be a decent turn out today considering there hasnt been one in awhile.

Basicly was a huge undertaking…..and Dieselgate pretty much ended it…..
i presently own 4 Diesels! 2017 Chevy Colorado Duramax, 2015 VW Jetta SEL TDI, 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland EcoDiesel, and a 2014 BMW 328D XDrive love them all

And I've heard those BMW diesels are like bulletproof monsters.

Actually the Forum is a shadow of its old self……
