I know alot of people have switched to the 2.0T Atlas oil pans which isnt plastic as a "OEM" swap. I know that the 2.0T 2018+ Tiguans have issues with the PCV failing and either blowing out the timing chain cover gasket, oil pan slightly cracking and throwing a EVAP fault due to the sensor throwing way out of spec because of the excessive pressure.

Monday June 10 at 8 am I dropped it off, but they were short handed and didn't get to diagnose it until Tuesday.
Just called to see if it was ready by EOD today... nope.

This car is finally fixed! I will report back here once I drive it a bit.
Edit: after some 100 miles of testing, I think this car is now fixed good. No regen yet, but that should be good too.
Edit again: 300 miles and I didn't detect the regen, but it probably happened in the highway. Running pretty good, although something is still loose in the front end, I'll look at replacing the left side tie rod end, inners seemed fine.

Yup, the left side tie rod end finally fixed a sloppy front end...well, that and the other tie rod end, ball joints, LCA rear bushings, and torsion bar links.
A new DPF is such a beautiful thing! Opened the elbow that feeds the intercooler, expecting to clean some sludge (since every time I have opened there I do find gray/black/green sludge), but this time around was almost pure water, not a lot, maybe a tablespoon.
Before finally getting the new DPF from warranty, I though maybe the turbo was a goner, but now I know the turbo is well. This car has a new lease on life for quite some time. As the end of the warranty approaches, or this new DPF dies again, I'll be getting a non-delete tune for it, perhaps @burpod is ready by then lol.

Just checking in here out of morbid curiosity.
Glad to hear wife's old car is still running good. You've definitely shown some perseverance in dealing with the emissions crap, getting recall done and getting dealer to honor the emissions warranty.

Personally, If everything was covered for free and I was given some sort of rental, I wouldnt mind the wait. Although the back and forth would be annoying but at the end of the day, look at the cost of everything thats getting replaced and look at what youre paying.

It was some level of back and forth with 2 dealers, but they both furnished loaners each time. Then returning the airbox to its original status took some time. Cleaning/drying the EGR filter a couple of times, putting just the right amount of miles to take it in.
Finally waiting for the CEL to come back 2 times, till they finally changed the DPF.
You are absolutely right on the cost of things, I had to sign paperwork for the dealer to get paid by VW: around $3500 the first time, then $2500 for the DPF replacement. Can't complain!

Remember, this car just got extended emissions warranty activated some maybe 1k miles ago and 4 months tops. The extension goes for 4 years or 48k miles.

Guess what guys and gals...this car just popped the same DPF efficiency below threshold and EGR insufficient flow codes. Just booked an appointment with the dealer, but this should be some sort of record!

Anymore, I'm convinced it's pretty much all junk. We had TWO GM 6.2L V8s in the shop at the same time, both needing the camshafts and valve train rebuilt. They chew themselves to bits sometimes before 70k miles. 0w20 and AFM for the win! Yes, your giant V8 *can* get up to 20 mpg! But not for long....
