Volkswagen just launched perhaps the best diesel-powered hot hatch ever, the 2021 Golf GTD. It might run on the wrong kind of fuel according to some, but there's no denying that it's pretty fast.

Our country especially California will never see another diesel from VW.....They literally F......ed them over so NO MORE.....People think VW is the one who was wrong but I think our country should have done a better job at testing. IMO they passed.....Cheating or not took the test and passed. Then THe US changed the rules......IMO. they screwed VW.

Holding a diesel to the same standards as a gasser is just dumb. Diesels run leaner = higher NOx BUT lower CO2 and that just doesn't matter to the EPA. It won't matter in 20 more years when most of us are driving BEVs.

VW gets. The blame, Cummins did it too and. Got caught, but small fine because it's an america company. Did you guys hear how ridiculous the emission cheat was? Some cars, over 85mph emitted a few percent more polution. Or used less diesel exhaust fluid. It's nutz

370 ft lbs would smoke the clutch at least. That would be a great race though- 240 hp golf tdi vs. 241 hp gti. Both with LSD.

Totally agree.....also look when you use less fuel there are less emissions from getting it out of the ground. They should get emissions credits for that. GOV does not care about environment just TAX MONEY.....see through the disguise. The Environment is just a smoke screen so they can rob your back pocket.

When I purchased my 2010 JSW I did get a tax credit because it was a high MPG vehicle. This drum has been beating so many times and different ways that it looks more like a table cloth. Yes VW designed a cheat to the system. Yes they got caught. Yes most of us got money from VW and Bosch. Yes many of us are still driving those fixed cars. End of story.
