I was doing a little research on the Cruze 1.6L Diesel. Now that it is offered in a stick version and gets good MPG I was wondering if anyone is looking at this car.
This is the 2.0L version with Auto trans. The 2017 version is a 1.6L and has an optional 6spd.I'd say that "yes" is the answer:

Saw a GM answer somewhere = GM has world wide diesel expertise. Not simply Opel.GM has a selection of oil burners. Wonder if this will continue without Opel engineering?
Just did a quick math on this, with current fuel prices in my area.Keep in mind that diesel is no longer a way to save money. It's a choice people make for driving characteristics, ....
True and the American way is to look at your monthly payments; who cares if you spend $29000 or $39000 out the door if you can 'afford' the monthly payments.Keep in mind that diesel is no longer a way to save money. It's a choice people make for driving characteristics, range, whatever. Premium trim with diesels will make sense to a lot of buyers, even if those buyers don't frequent this site.
Look at how many people here, even, are trading their MKVI TDIs for BMWs. My BMW is crazy fast, very comfortable, and a better highway cruiser than any VW I've owned. But I doubt it will save me any money.
