There are just too many to list....
The "main" thermostat on the CVCA is under a little twist-lock water flange that the radiator hose goes to. It is buried in there.

Here's what the whole assembly looks like:

About a half a day's work to R&R that mess. 4.7hr book time.

The thermostats (there are two) themselves comes out, and can be replaced by themselves. Those two flanges are the twist locks... but they are almost impossible to do while in the car because the release tab is awkward to get at and the plastic tends to stick together and not want to turn.

God I love my ALHs....

I just did the thermostat in my MK7 Golf TDI. Get your self a 2' long thin flat head screw driver to push the tab in while doing it. Also just go ahead and order the whole thermostat hosing with new "pipe" because you will more then likely break the housing. It's a pain in the butt.

Also get yourself a one day access and download all the service manuals for the car. It'll pay for itself.

Delete that junk
What is being deleted, and how is it done? Getting a MIL with a P2459 code, diesel particulate filter regeneration frequency. No performance issues, no black smoke. Unfortunately about 7k outside of warranty. Thanks!

Delete the EGR/DPF. And with a tune it turns it all off. I did it on the garage floor. Sucks, it can be difficult. Basically just swapping exhaust but in a very tight area, that's a very basic overview

Will it still pass inspection? Car now having performance issues, rough idling, no power, limped to the garage with top speed of 40 mph. Drove it almost 750 miles the day before, check engine light came on again early in the trip, same P2459 code.
