Hello, I have a pf04 installed in my 2015 Passat TDI SEL.

I took my car to the shop to have a timing belt changed. I asked them to go ahead and swap out the battery too while they had it. I turned the FIS off when I left the car at the shop. When they swapped the battery the FIS must've turned back on. The mechanic hooked up his obd2 scan tool to clear codes and a lot of the systems in the car started failing... Engine died, transmission stuck in gear, esc failure, steering wheel light, and many others...

He called me and I came to the shop. I realized the FIS was still on. I turned it off and some of the failures and dash lights stayed on. I then removed the FIS and the car worked normal and all codes cleared.

A few days later i refreshed the firmware and reinstalled. Car behaved normally but when I tried to go in and adjust visualization parameters I got the following message: Engine ECU not detected contact auto-ploar

I've reached out to auto-ploar and opened a ticket but I haven't heard back yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

almost sounds like the polarFIS died during battery connection? idk, perhaps the voltage spike or something got it

i think your best bet would be to wait and see what autopolar has to say

Sent mine back after the car essentially shut off while pulling out from a stop sign (all lights on dashboard and i could only roll backwards in neutral) never heard from polarfis again (it’s been 2 years). Fun product but catastrophic failure is not good at all. I have a scangauge instead.

Hey, I also have a SG. Do you want some of the values for the passat that I've acquired. As long its a SG2 or SG3.

It’s a scangauge 2, that would be great.
