I appreciate the response.No. The only difference is charge voltage to maximize its chemical lifespan. There is no safety risk.

Don't go with And AGM battery, a lot of people think it's an upgrade, but it is not. With a standard alternator, which the 2015 Passat has, it will cause the battery to fail in. Not that long of time. I replace a lot of bad AGM batteries that are not very in these cars. Now the golf and the A3 for 2015 used an AGM battery and had the smart battery monitoring system and Lynn alternator.Has anyone used Ross-Tech VCDS in a 2015 Passat to change the car charging settings for an AGM battery?
If so would you provide some details please?
Ok, copy. So an 'upgrade' for my 2015 Passat would be putting a size up H8 instead of H7:Don't go with And AGM battery, a lot of people think it's an upgrade, but it is not. I never really feared battery troubles. Keep a pair of jumper cables with your spare tire and a smile on your face and people will boost you. All the times I needed a tow was when my tire would burst on a highway bridge or when my emissions were acting up.Any battery could leave you stranded. I do have roadside assistance thru the insurance. Hope I never need it.
Just leave the h7. It is really tight to fit an h8 in and the h7 is plenty of power.Ok, copy. So an 'upgrade' for my 2015 Passat would be putting a size up H8 instead of H7:

Yep, the safety kit that came with the car from VW has jumper cables in it. I know that I have jumped many a battery for folks over the years.
