I don't believe the EPA numbers for diesels. The 2012 Passat DSG was listed at 30/40 and we're averaging almost 42 over 55,000 miles.1 mpg increase in fuel economy over the previous model on the TDI? You gotta be kidding me. I was expecting 48 mpg on highway.
Same has been true for my Golf with the older engine. EPA is 30/42, I've averaged 45 over 21K. If we expect the same from the new car then it would still net a 1 MPG improvement. Guess the big reason to go to Urea on the A platform (or now MBQ) just went away.I don't believe the EPA numbers for diesels. Yep. DEF tank gets in the way of the IRS.Torsen rear beam.
I have no problem with that. Works fine on my other TDIs, even on the track. Donut spare I don't like so much.Torsen rear beam.
Donut spare isn't so great, but I can live with it. My complaint is that the same highway mileage and a smaller fuel tank means less range.Donut spare I don't like so much.
Eh, my Ex's Mk4 GTI that I tracked, the rear would slide out really easily through tight S turns. Just prefer independent suspension.I have no problem with that. Works fine on my other TDIs, even on the track. Donut spare I don't like so much.
Cost & space saving though!Torsen rear beam.
All about setup. With the right springs and dampers it works fine. I agree it's a step back, just not a big deal in daily use.Eh, my Ex's Mk4 GTI that I tracked, the rear would slide out really easily through tight S turns. Just prefer independent suspension.
Plenty of VWs were made in Mexico under the current margin scheme. What I think this means is a lot less discounting.Made in Mexico seems to result in significant cost savings.
I honestly can't stand pleatherette. I don't understand why VW thinks this is some kind of an upgrade over cloth seats.
So definitely no GTD coming here.....
