I'm about to replace the timing belt in my '15 TDI Jetta.
However, I can't find any specific How-To's. It's possible I missed them in the search. Can anyone point to an EA288 specific procedure? Or, is it essentially like the CJAA generation?

Thanks!
Tony

Yes, if you have done a CJAA it will all be familiar. It may be easier, there are less parts involved.

My water pump failed recently on my EA288 2015 GSW. I replaced it along with the timing belt kit from idparts.com
It was very similar to my CJAA 2013 GOLF. A handy instruction guide is included with the Timing Belt.

You are correct that there are no instructions printed anywhere. I am just finishing the timing belt replacement on my 2015 Jetta TDI, EA288, CVCA engine. I had a few surprises, one being the lower timing cover has been bolted to the oil pan with bolt heads inside the oil pan. The water pump is driven by the back, smooth side of the belt, I had the wrong pump shipped from Rockauto, they won't take it back because of time. The Gates belt kit is good quality, new studs are grade 8. Timing pins enter slots at 8 o'clock on cam sprocket and 9 o'clock on HPFP sprocket. The Metalnerd MNCRPD crankshaft lock tool works fine. The front engine mount doesn't come out easily, I had assistance to pry it out, ground away a small bit of the aluminum casting, near the lower bolt hole so it would slip back in.

Thanks everyone!
As I looked closer, I was reminded that the belt has a 130K mile replacement interval, not 120K like I was thinking.
Given I only have 112K on the clock, I will be putting this off until the winter.
It's getting into the 90's now & won't let up until October.
Thank again for the input!
