Hi everyone, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I was getting a bit overwhelmed looking on google and thought I’d ask here. I have an 2015 Q5 TDI that needs to have the oil changed, power steering fluid etc. and I would like to try and learn to do it all myself. My dad used to and service my car for me, but he passed away a few months ago after getting sick. I know I could take it somewhere, but I know some of this stuff I could do myself and I would like to learn how.
Anyways I was wondering if you had any advice of what to do, what products to use or any videos to watch that could help me. I would be so appreciative. Thank you so much.

There are just too many to list....
I think this is a must-have for anyone with a VAG product that would like to service their own vehicle:

www.ross-tech.com (the place to get VCDS, an excellent scan tool... also resets the SRI, etc.)

I leave the fellow Canadians to suggest parts sources, as they may differ from ours but I know some of these guys do ship to Canada:

www.metalmanparts.com

www.IDparts.com

www.cascadegerman.com

www.kermatdi.com

For good in-depth information there is AlldataDIY subscriptions, or erWin subscriptions.

Your owner's manual will have all the normal PM schedule outlined. Normal PM stuff is not especially difficult, but getting into any "repairs" is going to be more in-depth...

The engine code is CPNB, and is useful to make sure you get the right stuff.

As @oilhammer said, buy a VCDS. It allows you to troubleshoot and provide information to allow people here to help you more than just "this warning light came on...now what?"

Hunt down the maintenance schedule for your Q5, and then do what it says when to do it.
And when you run into an issue, come here and look through the forum that is most similar to your engine, and if you can't make sense of what you find, post a question.
(Power steering fluid typically doesn't need changing on these cars; engine oil every 15K km; DSG transmission fluid every 70K km; brake fluid every 2yrs; fuel filters every second oil change; cabin air filter every two years; etc.)

Helping you get started.
Looks like your 2015 Q5 has a 3.0L TDI with engine code CPNB.
The Touareg also has a 3.0L TDI in the 2015 model year, so I'd assume they're at least similar.
Here's the maintenance schedule (in miles) for the T-reg.

All-star vendor IDparts.com has a convenient maintenance package for that engine that should get you going in the right direction.

Best Canadian option is probably RoselandTech.ca in Nova Scotia - if they don't have a bespoke package, send an email asking them to put something together for you and I'm sure they'll help you out.

How many miles/km do you have? I have a 2016 A6. Same engine, tranny, driveline and chassis. Just passed 77k miles.

One thing. You will want to ignore any old/original recommendations on the transmission fluid. Apparently ZF said do it at 60K mile intervals. it’s not bad and doable without a lift. Just a lot of work to get to the tranny, transfer case and front diff. There are a couple of good tutorials out there on YouTube. Just look for “ZF8 fluid change” for either the A6 or Q5. Rowe makes 9008 as the the ZF8 fluid alternative.

BTW, that transfer case fluid costs more than printer ink. Audi wants $120/liter. Look for the Ravenol AWD-TOR And save a few dollars.
