2014 vw jetta tdi no tune dpf delete?

Has anyone tried removing the inside of the dpf filter and running it without a tuner. Just curious If it will go into limp mode or anything?
Have a code reader so it's not a huge deal just wanna get rid of the stupid filter at no cost if at all possible. Don't care about the power or anything

It will still set a check engine light even if you remove the ceramic substrate insides. It has sensors that will fault. A tune is needed if you mess with the emissions system.

You will need a tune. It will go into limp mode and will run very badly.

There are at least 2 temperature sensors, and at least 2 pressure sensors. The ECU then gets before and after readings, and those differentials will allow calculations to tell if things within the DPF and catalysts are working. Just stripping the innards won't get you what you want. The tune Mozambiquer mentions is required.
