Guess I don't crank mine quick enough at idle...seems pointless. That's why the Passats get a 180 amp alternator If you have everything turned on, and quickly crank the wheel you can see the lights dim.

Where did you learn this information? The trim around the radio and climatronic is flat black now, not gloss black.
If we're getting MFA+ clusters in the US that would be neat!

It's true about complexity, but EPA is forcing the mpg issue, so in the order to get there turbo or superchage are only ways. Why would they replace the 2.5 non turbo engine with a smaller turbo one? The added complexity of the turbo engine would increase reliability issues and need premium gas. Dont enderstand this change from an economical standpoint.

I agree. That is definitely not a raw picture... there is some serious Photoshopping going on to add light/shadows and who knows what else.Ah.
Well, looking at the picture a few posts up of the SEL Premium, it looks to me an awful lot like it's computer generated picture of a 2012 Passat. Everything just looks a bit off in color and texture (look at the shifter boot and start button, they just don't look natural), and the door underneath the radio gives it away that it's a 2012. Still, I agree, the radio surround does look matte in that picture, but I'm unsure that will translate into the 2014 Passat.
Time will tell.
