2014 & Diesel Exhaust Fluid?

Hi All. Got a 2014 Jetta TDI SW. Do I have to worry about DEF?

2014s do not have DEF, that was added with the EA288 motor in 2015

From my understanding, it is a completely redesigned engine.

Only Passats and other heavier VWs use DEF.

All 2015 VW TDIs use DEF, including the Jetta, Golf, and Golf Sportwagen.

Not really. Many consider the EA288 engine in the '15s to be better than the CJAA in the '10-14 cars, correcting several issues that engine has, including more common (although still not that common) HPFP failure and intercooler icing. And using DEF gives VW more flexibility in tuning the car for best performance and economy.
