2013 golf tdi tune???

Whats the HW and SW on it ??
Also whats the production date on the ECU???
that's what make the difference between tune or not.
Last time JFettig it was unable to do 2012, so now you are able to do 2013...

You might not be able to do any 2013 ECUs but I've got happy 2013
customers that can vouch for our ability to do them. Did one today. But it is true, not all 2013's can be tuned.

Just had a buddy tune his 2013. No issues in tuning it. Returned trip home yielded 2mpg at higher speeds.

Yes you are right, MY 2013 can be tuned as long production date is prior 1-1-2013 afterwards cannot be done, that's the new anti tuning started, of course this is just temporary.

Would you like to share the ORI file for this 2013 ECU ?

That's interesting....very .....
First how it works:
To tune a car need to read the ORIGINAL FILE:
once read need to send to the MASTER=MALONE
So if you did a 2013 there is an original file available"maybe in different format" because all the tools are different and do read differently
So there is no need to ask the client/customer to come back... if already done...
.....so there is available the OEM software version.
Just let you know all the SW on CRD VAG2.0 TDI EDC17cp14 USA cars are similar, "5% different from SW/HW.
The reason i asked is just to prove that you don't have
Beside in the past tuner here asked me for original file and i was pleased to share, not like others that told me "get it from the VAS DVD updates"
so.....I repeat if you need to read as you state above means...you never done....

Ho...tools do works on a simple matter...if cannot be done would not read for security reason " idiot proof" and it would not be able to save the file...

Just had APR software flashed on me '13 Golf TDI and no problems there. Car was Mfg'd 9/12.

I bought a 2013 about 45 days ago. A little disappointed that there is debate on the tune. But, I am really loving this car and as long as the current enjoyment level is high, I will leave it alone.

But, I am definitely enjoying this thread and will keep an eye on it. There is a lot of sass going on but when I am ready to take the next step on a tune, hopefully the dust will have settled here and everyone will be in perfect harmony on the prospects of a 2013 tune.

There's nothing to debate, I've installed tunes on more than (15x) 2013 cars, I've never had one that I couldn't tune. That having been said, I have not tuned a 2013 Touareg, a couple of our dealers have tried to tune those and were not successful, so yes, there are some 2013s that can't be tuned yet.

I have a pretty good idea why the other tuning company can't read new the ECUs, and it sounds like APR figured it out too.

So you do APR tunes? Malone? Those are the only I have heard of that have installers near me...

The APR upgrade, can be reprogrammed to stock by using the cruise control button very easily.

This is important, because I will revert to stock each time I take my 2013 Golf TDI in for service during the warranty period.

Wrong. The car is not 'programmed back to stock' when you switch tuning profiles. The APR tune is still in the ECU, it just pulls back the parameters to be equal to what the stock software would be.

The first time your car's ECU is scanned at a dealership, there's a good chance it will be flagged "TD1" (not TDI) by their system, and anything involving the engine as far as warranty work is concerned will be denied due to the tune.

There's currently no way to prevent VW from detecting a tune, and there's a very slim chance of that changing any time soon.

When my wife's 2009 2.5 Jetta is paid off in a few months, I really want to get a 2013 Jetta TDi 6 spd.

Do we know for SURE yet that the post 1/13 TDis can be tuned yet? I would probably buy it anyway but would like something else to get excited about

Not every thing you read on the internet is true, some of it is only half true.

Audi can and will flag tuned cars to have their powertrain warranty voided automatically, at this time, VW does not do that.

Yes, I tuned a 2013 JSW with a build date of 3/13 last week. As of right now I can tune all 2.0 CRs through 2013.
We cannot tune 2013 V6 at this time.
