I’ve got a pretty decent slow oil leak coming from what appears to be the center rear of the engine. I’m talking 2-3 drips every 24 hours. With so much stuff on the firewall side of the engine up top, I’m going to need to get under to look, but any common areas this usually winds up being so I can try and target this?

car has 188k miles and other than an a/c issue, works great.

There are just too many to list....
New cover, comes with the gasket already on it, you'll also need all the injector washers, seals, coverplates, and clamps. You'll be removing the fuel rail, all the delivery pipes, injectors, etc.

Yep... that's why it's 3.7hr labor time to replace it.

Not a hard job, just tedious... and you have to REALLY be careful to keep things clean, avoid dripping fuel all over, and make sure to get the old washers out of the injector holes if they comes loose, and clean those holes out, and be certain not to let anything get down in the cylinder or the engine. Lots of little nuts hold the clamps down, and you can drop them into the cam case if you're not careful.

And be REALLY thorough and precise cleaning everything and going all back together.

yeah I would definitely take this on 10 years ago but not so much now. I’d pay a shop but I’d be upside down on the car w/the cracked DPF, gasket leak, and wonky compressor.

I guess I’ll see if I can install some pig mat on the splash guard and out of site, out of mind LOL.

Until it catches fire....

But it'll generally wipe out all the steering and suspension bushings, and eventually the right side undershield, before that happens. Unchecked oil leaks can do some real bad stuff over time.
