72. - 2014 Highline [SEL] Black, cornsilk leather. Added Michelin MXV4's, side window deflectors, tinted glass.
Over 50 yrs of buying cars ... my first was a '64 VWVan. Owned so many -- TBirds, Lincoln MK VII, Z28, vans, trucks, Subaru's .... and about 20 others. About 1.5 million miles.
My wife and I were impressed with the balance of quality, innovation, features and character built into the Passat compared to other similar products. The higher mileage is an added bonus from what we hope will be a great new car experience.
From up in the Great White North. Cheers!

Both my wife and i are 30. I bought my first TDI in 2004, a Jetta. 420000km later it is still running strong. Bought a 2012 Passat TDI Comfortline just over 2 years ago for my wife. It has been a great vehicle. My wife drives much less, 37000km but so far has been much more reliable than the 2011 Fusion it replaced (transmission flare issue and electric gremlins from day one..) Happy motoring!

Traded my 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid for a 2014 Opera Red/Titan Black Passat TDI SE w/ Sunroof. I loved my Honda, but the hybrid batteries were at the end of their life. I'm really happy with my purchase, and I see many years and many miles of diesel motoring ahead of me.

25, Passat TDI SEL Premium 2014, this will be my third NEW car purchase exchanging my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.7 hemi. Never ever will I go back to a V8 for a daily driver.
I traded the same thing for my Passat 4 months after buying it. I loved the truck, it was just a bad idea to buy it while I was driving nearly 50k a year. Fast forward to today and I'm looking for an SEL to replace my SE that hit 40k today..

52 and purchased 2012 Passat TDI SE with 97,800 miles already on it. 2nd VW, 1st diesel VW, and 1st turbo. Loving the car, its power and the mpg - dislike the 100,000 mile service prices though. Hoping that my dealer will have some sympathy for me.

None...2011 Golf DSG (replaced by VW W/) 2013 Passat SE 6M(bought back) Current 2017 sportwagen TSI 4Motion.
100k service isn't a bad one. Just oil and filter, fuel filter and cabin filter. 120k and 130k are the ones that are gonna cost some cash. (Timing belt is due at 130k)

Really? I've been seeing all sorts of posts that indicate that the timing belt is due between 80 - 100k. Now I'm confused

130K on the CKRA, it's in the NMS Passat, cannot say the other TDI's some I believe say start having it checked at 60 or 80 and check at each oil change.

Once I got past 35, I'm always older than I want to be! Still get told I'm in my late 30's or early 40's . I figure they're lying just to make me feel good. I think you can guess my age doesn't start with a 3 or 4 anymore. I remember the day my mom was crying, kneeling down before me telling me Kennedy was shot (the first one), and the day she wouldn't let me watch Star Trek because she wanted to watch Peggy Fleming skate in the winter Olympics. She didn't have her priorities straight!:p All you people in your 20's and 30's probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Yep, I remember those as well. My age started with a 6 last Thursday :p

While my first choice would be a Tiguan TDI, I'm quite pleased with my new Passat. Just got it last month. I haven't had a diesel VW since my 1980 Rabbit L. Frankly, there are times I miss that car. Other times, nah! :D
