I dropped off the car this morning for a 10K mile service. I told them that the car was pulling to the right. Dealer just called and said it will be $100.00 to fix it!!!

Several monthes ago, I was reading on here that there were some issues with the 2011s pulling to the right. Is this true? I thought this would be cover under the Warrenty work as well.

Any feedback is grealty appreacated.

Thanks,

Chris

Sounds odd as the car is well under warranty. I would ask for an explanation. I had my center console get stuck open and my dealer replaced the console free of charge.

Mine pulled right straight from the dealer. They told me I had to wait until after a couple thousand miles for them to align it, because the suspension had to break in. They ended up resetting the wheel sensor and aligning it for free, along with fixing a paint bubble and fixing a dash rattle at the first courtesy check up.

They're probably trying to charge you thinking you hit a curb and knocked it out of alignment.

If it's just an alignment issue, VWoA won't flip the bill for an alingment after the 90 day 6k check. Some have had luck with having the dealer perform an alignment on good faith and not charge them, granted they won't bill VWoA for warranty work either, thats why you will probably get slack from the dealer to cough up the $100. Call up VWoA and state your case.

My 2010 needed an alginment when I got it at 36K (steering wheel was cocked since just over 2K miles, even though it drove straight and ture) the rear needed adjustment as it was causing uneven tire wear. I just paid the $90 my dealer charged.

Because you are obviously a Ravens fan, I'm gonna link you a post I made a couple weeks ago...you should really look at it concerning the "pull" you have. PM me if you want a copy of the invoice emailed to you.

Off topic - How about that game Sunday...my god they blew the Steelers out! 7 turnovers...are you kidding me? And how about them rushing yards by Ray Rice! I think he had more yards than the Steelers combined that game lol. Can't go wrong with the Ray-Rays (Lewis/Rice that is).

Where in Maryland do you live?

To play devils advocate, did you mention it at any point when you first got the car so they had it on file?

A lot can happen to a car in 10k miles that can throw off an alignment and no that shouldn't be covered under warranty.

If that was for me - no I did not. I would not have expected a new car to need an alignment done anyway. If there's obvious damage, like hitting a curb or something...ok. But to have driven it off the lot and get down the road 1000 miles, and it's pulling - that's someting that should definitely be covered.

Not directed at you, but - My car is pulling, it's brand new...(to the mechanic) you prove to me that there was operator error and not somethig wrong with the car that is beyond "normal" wear and tear.

EDIT - Needless to say, I presented the problem to my dealership, and they corrected it without question, and didn't charge me a dime.

As mentioned, alignment/off center steering wheels are only covered for the first 6,000 miles.
