Well I finally decided to make the transition from super old(93' Passat) to brand spanking new:D!

Notice there's is not a whole lot of threads on with these cars yet but they do have the same engine has 2010's.

Does anyone use fuel additives with there's? I have past experience with Stanadyne products with my older mechanical injection TD's with excellent results. Haven't seen or heard of anything for these engine's.

Anyways any other words of advice for this little beauty of mine that will coming soon and I will be enjoying the benifits of excellent fuel economy.

Cheers,

A very happy and excited owner!

First off your new car is common rail (CR). I have used Stanadyne since my car was new and it has been happy with it. Make sure you go to known good diesel stations to avoid a bad batch of diesel.

Went with the Highline with DSG transmission and added snow tires. For pricing, I think because your in the southern states it would much different.

i have vw steelies, with vw hubcaps and 16" gislaved nordfrost 5's on my 2011 jetta now. but i was thinking about another set for my wife's 2004 passat. i thought having vw alloys on 16" marangoni winter tires for $990 was a good deal. i could then swap them next winter :)

2011 Jetta TDIs (sedans) are not yet available for sale in the US (only in Canada at this time). I believe that the US TDIs will not be available until late spring (IIRC). You can get a new TDI SportWagen (these are made in Mexico), but the new Jetta sedans are made in Chattanooga, TN and, as for now, all the TDIs are going to Canada. Therefore if you want a new Jetta sedan TDI in the US you have to wait a while.

Have Fun!

This is wrong, all Jettas are made in Mexico no matter what, expect the MK5 Wolfburg Editions. The TN plant isn't even complete yet. Should be done within the next year or so.

Wow talk about taking a different direction on this post. Well to steer it back on track... I've been driving my Jetta now for 2 days and I'm super happy with it!!! I starting shop for some good additives to keep this bad girl fuel system on track.

I love diesel!!!!!!!!!!!!
