New commute car needs brakes. Tried searching a bit but nothing obvious came up.

I've got my old sportwagen sitting around and I had done the brakes at all four corners fairly recently before the car died.

What are the odds I can just bolt up the brakes from the mk6 on the mk5?

Probably need the calipers and carriers too?

09 to 14 JSW is the platform. depending upon what brakes are in each, they should install fine.

That's what I was thinking too.

Should be a nice upgrade for free.

I'm going to have to make some time to get it done. Need to (finally) do brakes on the Touareg after 3.5 years of ownership (and 150k+ km).

The sportwagen has the larger rotors and caliper brackets, so it will be an upgrade. It is noticeable. I do it on just about all of the sedans that live at my house and family. It is also the same setup that's on a GTI of the same generation. And the MK6 GTI brakes.
