New to the forums, in Rio Rancho and picked up a used Sportwagen I'm calling the RanchoWagen because of the big honkin brush guard the original owner fabbed and installed.
I was going to take it off but decided not to after I witnessed it turn tumbleweeds into dust that would have caused some major front end damage.

Looks like a pretty beefy brush guard! Whoever made that should sell them in here! I have no doubt there'd be quite a few interested people if the price was right! Now you just need to mount some driving lights on that bad boy!

Steelies are too heavy. You're better off getting a decent light-weight wheel and plasti-dipping them flat black. And maybe install a lift kit and some over-sized tires (just go +1 or +2 on the sidewall) and you'll have a TDI All-Road wannbe!

If there were a way to make it bigger to offset an 800 kg moose, I might be interested. It would probably limit forward visibility, though. Gone are the days when Saab tested their cars for moose collisions.

Hey, hoping someone could help me out. By the looks of it, this thing is probably at around 60 pounds. It seems to be connected by some sort of contraption within the fog light housing? Is there a beam within that or do you think the guy welded a bit on something like the radiator support? And if so, how safe is that having something like this pulling down on it every bump.

Have a project in mind for a mk6 sportwagen.
