Purchased my JSW 5 months ago for my 135 mi commute several times/week. On one of my trips, I got a steering wheel shimmy at 70 mph. Applied brakes and got a pull to the right and more vibration. Pulled over, but couldn't see anything, but the right side was much hotter. A few days later, same thing happens on the highway, and the ESP light comes on (I believe that this is the VW ABS system). It went out after the next engine shut down and restart. I haven't seen it since.
I am getting 10-15% worse gas mileage according to the dashboard computer. The car hardly moves forward when shifting into Drive now as it feels like the brakes are grabbing.
Took it to my local shop..they tested the brake system. The Mech said that all 4 brakes are sticking..not releasing. Sounds like my loss in performance and vibration has been caused by the brake issue, but what the heck is causing it? Is this an ESP problem, a DSG problem or something else?
Any help, input or experience on this issue would be greatly appreciated!
