I am a newbie to this forum and this is my first post. I have a question about the CECM in a 2010 Jetta Sedan. I read on this forum that you can test if you have a highline CECM by enabling the fog lights with VCDS and seeing if it sticks. This is exactly what i did and I say a bulb out indicator and the setting seemed to be there the next time I accessed the controller. Would it be safe to say I have a highline CECM or is the 2010 CECM too new to tell? I ask because I intend to add fog lights and would hope to not have to use the relay. Thanks (I have a Vag-com auto-scan if this would help)

1. Wrong forum. 2010 is mk6, at least electrically.
2. Next update of VCDS is supposed to address 2010 coding and adaptation. We will see the changes VW made.

1. I thought that 2010 Jetta Sportswagen was mk6 not the sedan?
I appreciate the reply and I guess I should wait for the next update before proceeding.

A 2010 Jetta Sportwagen is an A5 with many A6 Updates..........but the Chassis is A5........

How about the CECM is it the same between 2010 sedan, wagen and golf? my guess would be that it is. But that doesn't make the sedan or wagen a mk6 car though.

So did I post this in the correct forum or not? I didn't intend this post to be information about the sportswagen... but all replies are welcome.

I have not figured this out yet. I have the fogs and cables, but I need to find a wiring diagram for the CECM as it is different than 2009 models. I am inclined to think that the 2010 Jetta TDI CECM is the same/similar to the 2010 Golf TDI which has foglights standard, which gives me hope if I can find an update wiring diagram.

This is the part: 5K0-937-087-C

But I would wait a bit. ETKA is kind of crazy with new models. 087 C is available in two versions:
5K0937087C Z0V - for manual
5K0937087C Z0X - for auto

The most recent revision (per ETKA rev 787) is 5K0937087G Z3H and this one does not have tranny code, so it should work with both auto and manual. Bad news is it is not yet available at 1stvwparts.

I am not sure about this, but I think you would want one of these:
5K0-937-087
5K0-937-087-B
5K0-937-087-C
the .clb in your part number is actually a file extension used by VCDS. Looks like maloosheck beat me to the punch

Even if I did swap this out I still think I would be in a similar situation. Without a updated wiring diagram I am not sure where in the CECM to connect the fog lights. I have read through the Vortex diy and I actually have looked at mine by removing the footwell fascia and it it completely different than previous years. It appears that all the connectors in the previous models have been consolidated into 3 larger connectors shown below.

I am actually looking into this as well. I would like to ask you a favour though: Can you take a closer shot of your module so that I can see the letters marking each plug? They should be embossed on the enclosure. I expect something like M, N, P...

I hadn't even thought about that, because I figured I was going to have to wait awhile before I could do fogs or xenons because so little is known about our cars, but I was planning on doing euro LED tails w/ rear fog(since it did not require a highline CECM), but with this totally different looking control module I doubt its the same process for swapping out the pins for the rear fog trigger wire, so I will be putting that on hold for awhile too

Just on a side note would the wiring diagram be in the bentley repair or service manual for the 2010 jetta?

Has anyone figured out the coding on the '10 for LED tails yet?

I have the service manual and I can't find it, but that doesn't mean it is not there. I have the new version that came out on 12/18/09 that is supposed to include 2010 Sedan and Sportswagen.

I sent a post over on vortex to a dealer and sent him my part number and then the part number of the highline to try and see if there was a pricing difference, and was told these were bad numbers, so it looks like it will be awhile before we will be able to even order the part.

Nah. You can order 5K0-937-087-B right now (~$200 at 1stvwparts).

Here is what I found:

Left Front Fog Lamp - pin M/25
Right Front Fog Lamp - pin P/25
Trigger from pin 5 at switch - M/21

Plugs M & P use 4 different connectors, if you send me the picture of location 21 and 25 at each plug, I should be able to find out the PN of the service wire. Most likely it is 00 979 026.

BTW Kufatec sells both harness and the CU. Question is if it is a hi-line or just mid-line.

I am working on rear LEDs and fog.

maloosheck thanks for all your help on this, you are a huge asset to newbies like myself. So once a highline can be swapped out, I was looking to get the fogs from TM Tuning, do you know if fog kits from them or other places would still need the harness from kufatec?
