My wife has an '08 EOS DSG and I just picked up a '10 JSW DSG. Her car has pretty severe rollback when stopping on hills. The newer car doesn't seem to have this problem and I can't find any reference to a new transmission or hill holder feature.

I wanted to see if anyone has more info - I'd sure like to know if the hill holder feature can be retrofitted to the earlier car/transmission. She knows to use the e-brake method now but feels she shouldn't need to do so with an "automatic".

Any info would be appreciated.

All I can add is that my 09 has the hill holder function and there is no reference to it in the manuals.

The Eos may have a sticky brake switch which is keeping the DSG in neutral just a little bit too long, thereby letting the car roll back....

Here's the page from my manual that explains the hill holder, mine has it and i bet yours does too!

Jacobav, thanks for that info. It is documented in the 2010 wagon but the 08 EOS has no mention of this feature. Guess I'm gonna need to resume ebrake launch training!

I have to say that while it is a nice feature to have I'm not completely thrilled with it. It "slowly releases" the brakes over a 2 second period, which means that you cannot move for at least a second, and that the clutch and brakes are fighting for the last second.
