Hello, I bought four of these last fall https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9112252&cc=1502698&pt=12036&jsn=8 and had a shop install them on used rims with new winter tires. The shop did not have the car when they mounted the tires because my daughter had it in a different city, but the car was supposed to "learn" the sensors. I tried the factory relearn procedures of sitting 20 minutes and then driving and holding the ESP button until you hear a chime. Neither method worked, so my daughter drove around with the TPM light on last winter. I want to resolve this, what is the best way? Thanks!

TPMS - a positive for safer driving - - - or a big pain in the A$$?.

Returning from an 890 mile NorCal - SoCal trip (HS Class Reunion).....................

The TPMS "Ping" sounded - and the low tire icon appeared.............

We exited I-5 near the Tehachipi summit - - - Elevation 4144 feet---- the four tires looked OK.

So we completed the return trip sans tire trouble.

Next day I measured all four - - - - - 3 tires: same PSI - 1 off 2 PSI.

Aired up all four........ignition on, reset held down, no "ping/icon" after 2-3 seconds.

Icon remained off - drove for a few days - no ping and NO ICON!!

A pain in the ass - but the TPMS means well - again "a pain in the ass" for sure.

OTOH we calc'd 53.1 MPG for this almost 900 mile round trip.
