This is a really amazing car and I think a few of you guys might recognize it already. Anyways I bought this car a few months ago and was really excited to play around with it. My plan was to put a more hardcore suspension and race it. However I am now going to be taking on a new position at work and it looks like I am not going to have any time to work on my project cars for quite some time. So I am going sell this car (along with 3 others). I have put maybe 2000 miles on it since I bought it. It has just been sitting around for the last few months. This car is very nice and setup to be a great daily driver, averages high high 40-50 mpg (mostly city). The interior could use a detailing (was going to do this but haven't had time to even look at the car lately) and the hood latch lever is broken which is why the grille is out on the pictures, the tires are starting to look pretty worn as well. As you can see this car is very modified but the majority of the mods including the turbo and transmission were done with in the last 8000 miles. The transmission on this car is the best I have ever felt in a FWD car (and I have driven quite a few) the previous owner estimates about 10k was spent getting it imported rebuilt and installed. The car comes with two ECUs, one has a Kerma tune and the other is a RocketChip. Both are still covered by warranty and can be updated it you want to change something up. Come take a look at this car you will not be disappointed. I believe the price is pretty fair given that it is a golf and its miles, mods, and condition but if you disagree please make me an offer...

Engine:
Stock 2005 1.9L TDI (PD) Internals. Including Block, Pistons, Valves, and camshaft
PD 150 Injectors
Removed all Emission – EGR Valve removal with Race pipe for Euro 150 Intake
Intake Manifold off of Euro 150 engine
Rocket Chip Tune (on separate ECU)
Kerma Tune + Q Loader
Turbo is a VNT 20 exhaust and 23 compressor
Snow Stage 3 Methanol/Water injection system
Oil over flow fliter system with custom bracket
This is made by provent. Typically the crankcase vapors are routed back into the intake. This is just hot air and oil vapor which cannot be burned by the engine. The filter just catches the oil and dumps the air out on the ground. You will need to empty the oil from reservoir. Just unscrew the top and suck out the oil.
Custom Stainless Steel exhaust manifold and 3” down pipe
3” Exhaust with Magnaflow muffler
Manual Boost Controller
3 Bar Map sensor
Intake box and snorkel off of a Euro R32 DSG
Front Mount Intercooler Kit – Eurojet
Drive Train:
Audi TT Quattro Clutch and Fly wheel.
Euro ERF 6-speed Transmission
Cyro/heat treated and REM polished Gears
VR6 Axles
Peloquin LSD
Diesel Geek Short Shift kit
Braided clutch line

Exterior:
Aspherical Rear view mirrors
Enkei RPF1 17x7 Wheels
Diesel Geek Aluminum Skid Plate
Lug Lock kit
Euro TDI logo
Euro Headlights and side markers

Interior:
Mechanical Boost Gauge
Cup holder insert
Six-Speed shift knob
Gorilla Rear matt
Rubber floor matts
Snow Injection Control

Suspension:
Koni FSD shocks
Eibach prokit springs
Neuspeed Rear Sway bar
Audi TT lower control arms and bushings front and rear
New Stock Motor Mounts and stiffer Dogbone inserts

Brakes:
337 Front and Rear GTI Calipers and Rotors swap
Braided Brake lines
OEM Brake pads and rotors

Maintenance:
Timing belt – Done at 70K miles
Oil Change – 2000 miles ago. Always done with 505.01 oil.
If you have any questions please let me know. I appologize for the crappy pictures they were taken with my phone. Let me know if you want any close ups on anything.

Thanks,
Ben Minne

To answer a couple questions I have gotten:

This car does smoke and there is nothing mechanically wrong with it. I was originally concerned about this having never driven a modified TDI, but after researching it and looking at some other modified TDIs, it was not more than normal. I did work with Charlie at Kerma and he gave me a tune that did reduce the smoke and helped with throttle response. He has assured me we could get it even less. So if smoke is an issue there are plenty of ways to cut it down.

Thanks,
Ben

Wow, why haven't I seen you car before. Nicely modded (from the list of parts anyway, got any better pics of the turbo?).

Any dyno #s? No EGT gauge for tuning and safety?

I don't think the previous owner posted much on the forums. All of the work was done by BarTuning out of Houston. Both RocketChip and Kerma are very familiar with this car :) Jeff from RC tuned it in person after the latest round of mods.

Here are a few pics of the turbo. They were taken while on the car so the view is a bit restricted. I thought I got some with the manifold, turbo and transmission off the car from the previous owner but can't seem to find them.

There has not been a dyno since the big turbo was installed. Everyone is estimating about 200hp (definitely feels fast :) ). It sounds like the EGT was an oversight when the new manifold was being built. That would be the first thing I would do if I was keeping it...

Nathan's old car right?... Nice! I know it has a lot of nice very expensive mods and I don't know what you paid for it, but blue book is about ~$6k below what you are asking. Mods don't pay back that much upon resale. FWIW Good luck with the sale, too bad you can't keep it.

Yes this is indeed Nathan's old car. Yeah I was hoping not to loose tons of money on the sale of this car, but after looking at the prices around here I suppose I will have to suck it up and take the hit. I will update the price in the description. Someone is going to get a steal for the mods on this car and the extra stuff thrown in like the extra ECU and two tunes...

remember, this car can't be legally registered in any jurisdiction that does smog checks

should be sold to a region where smog checks are not done

I was under the impression that diesels until the ones built in the last few years were exempt from smog checks? This car was inspected in Houston and I know they definitely do have smog checks. I could be mistaken, I will have have to look into that.

Another price drop. Someone is going to get a steal on this car. At this price, its like you would be paying for only the most recent round of mods (big turbo, exhaust manifold, and transmission) and getting a low mile Golf with a ton of other very nice mods for free...

For those of you out of state, all you would need to do is put the cats back in and keep a lean tune on the q-loader and you should pass just fine. Unless I am misreading what I am finding on other states emissions laws. I will even throw in a brand new EGR valve if you want to be extra careful. You could also run a tank of Bio diesel before you get tested...

Wow...very nicely modded car. I think you're in bargain territory at your current price given the amount of mods you're getting with this car. (what's Nathan's handle on tdiclub?)

One nitpick:
Stock 2005 2.0L TDI (PD) Internals. Including Block, Pistons, Valves, and camshaft
Stock would be 1.9L.

Thanks for the correction. I will update the description. I am sorry I don't know Nathan's handle.

Thanks for recognizing this is a bargain, someone is going to make out like a bandit. It sure isn't me :)

I just remembered the free EGR I was going to throw in will not fit this intake, so that is off the table.

Thanks,
Ben

Sorry you had to sell the car Ben. I hope you got some enjoyment out of it. I've heard that it has sold again since you sold it.

There was a question earlier about the EGT probe. One of your pictures of the turbo and manifold and the egt probe. The water meth module has the readout for the egt's. The snow performance kit monitored boost and egt.

Any idea where the car is now. I'd like to keep track of her.
