Hi there.

According to the information I have collected from the service book on a
2005 passat the car has AVF (1.9TDi PD) engine. But according to the
information I have there is no AVF engine on 2005 passat ?

We are about to fit CC to the car, and want to confirm the wiring.

According to my wire diagram we should connect the following pins from the
CC stalk (10 pins output from the CC) to the 15 pins white connector in the
plenum chamber:

Pin 4 to Pin 7 on CC
Pin 7 on CC -> Pin 10 in Plenum chamger
Pin 5 on CC -> Pin 7
Pin 2 on CC -> Pin 8
Pin 3 on CC -> Pin 9

And supply 12v+ to pin 6 on CC.

Anyone that can please confirm this is correct for the above mentioned car ?

Do you have a 1.9 liter engine in your car? Are you in the US?
Only a 2-Liter was offered here.

Is this aftermarket Cruise Control or OEM?

I think I wouldn't attempt it unless I had the Bently schematic specific to my car. Even if someone confirmed these for you I would be suspect until I saw the schematic

It's a 1.9. And I'm not in the US (europe).

It's a original cruise control stalk.

Do you think I'm only guessing when I write this detailed ? :)

Bently's don't exist in europe. But this information is "VAG approved". The only confusion is that if I choose engine code AVF then 2005 is not available as a choise. And if I choose 2005 then AVF is not available as an engine choose. So either is my information incorrect, or the passat is actually a 2004. That's why I wonder if the 2005 european passat was delivered with AVF engine.

Actually, it sounds as though you've done some homework.

I really don't know how the CC works on this vehicle. If it's vacuum operated, does our diesel engine make enough vaccum? Are you having to add some vacuum storage?

Nope, I've done it on my own Audi A4 1.9TDi PD (almost same engine), and needed nothing but the stalk and some wires (actually I used a network cable for computers :).

But I would like to get it confirmed that I have the correct wiring diagram even if 2005 and AVF engine is not an option in my "system".
