My 2005 Passat, 180,000 miles, Malone stage 2 ( I think), new or rebuilt transmission replaced about 15,000 miles ago, recent timing belt replacement, stumbles on mid-throttle to full throttle acceleration. I have tried with the transmission in automatic or shift-yourself mode, with the same results. The car surges or stumbles (depends on which way you look at it) with acceleration. Once at speed, any speed, there are no stumbles or surges. I haven't seen a code on the car, and haven't used the VAG to see if something shows there. (The VAG is at my son's house, across town.) This is real: my wife notices it.
With a little hose wiggling, I determined that the hose from the dashpot on the turbocharger to the valve under the turbo was getting floppy, and replaced that. No change. Is the thing under the turbo the N75 valve? Other hoses seem intact.
Fuel mileage is unchanged.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff
