Hi guys, having a bit of a nightmare getting issues diagnosed on my Allroad…
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
I will post the results of a full scan but I’m not looking at the pre injection or fuel level sensor related issues at the moment; they were there before my main problems started.
Essentially:
No power to climate control or air suspension, stability control off, ABS off, outside temperature showing -20c, oil level sensor error on dash, auto gearbox shift lock won't disengage whilst pressing brakes...
All of the above seemed to happen when the idler/tensioner failed on the A/C pump, so I assumed it damaged a part of the wiring harness and decided it was time to do the belts and removed the front of the car.
No sign of any damage whatsoever and there are no wires near the front of the engine (that I can see) to be damaged.
I proceeded to replace all the belts, pulleys, water pump etc.
Car is running now and I am going around in circles.
I spoke with a VW tech and he said it’s a coincidence that the idler failed but I’m not so sure. He seems to think the powertrain issue relates to the instrument cluster?
I have checked all fuses (OK).
Please help!

Hi,
there is a small metal plate under the right hand side chassis rail which carries a live 12v supply to a ballast resistor , but I cant remember off hand what it fed. It is in the destruction zone of a flailing belt. I've had several belts go on an A/C pump which was on it's last legs.
Give that a check and check the A/C power wire isn't damaged further up,as that seems the only fault in the area of the belt. Could be causing supply problems for the other items.

It's the flat plate facing downwards on the right chassis rail near the hose in the picture
