Anyone know if a hatch from a 2006, 2005 .2004 TDI wagon will fit a 2003 TDI wagon? I know certain things changed mid 2005 but not sure of hatch. Thanks

I see 1J9 827 025 AD. Paint won't be cheap: I'd think it would cost $300 - 400 to do it right. Too bad your car isn't silver, that's the most common. There aren't a lot of blue cars around.

Thanks, if car wasn't diesel manual wagon I wouldn't fix it but this has been best VW i've ever owned, at 470000 km/ about 300000 mi now and no reason if I fix body it couldn't go double that. wish I knew how water is getting in and rusting hatch, it also has the rocker issue both sides, wish I knew about that before rust showed up. now know about cleaning that area out.

There are welds in the lower window corners that break and let moisture collect, I'm told, and that's where they rust. I had my tailgate and fenders replaced and one rocker repaired on my Wagon right at the end of the 12 year rust warranty, in 2014. Since then I've had to replace the fenders again (undercoated better this time) and the other rocker repaired. But it still looks good at 18 years old and now 420K miles.

I bought this car new and never intended to keep it, or any car, this long. I've bought several cars as intended replacements, but they go away and this one stays. It's still my daily and I still look forward to driving it. That's the key to me: boredom is usually what ultimately gets me to sell a car.
