Hi TDIClubbers,
Long time no post, sorry... been busy with life and such...
We swapped a NEW old stock 6-speed manual transmission into my son's 2002 Jetta TDI and it has been working great. But lately it seems to be loosing prime and if it sits at all he has to crack open an injector line to get the air out and get it to refire... and he drives a company car so his TDI only gets driven a few times a week at most now.
Anyhow, he is looking into getting something newer and has actually put a deposit down on a 2015 BMW 328d Wagon MSport XDrive so I wanted to check and see I someone might be interested in buying his 2002...
It has around 260,000 miles on the chassis and engine and somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 miles on the transmission and clutch. The interior is as expected with a car of this age and mileage with saggy headliner with pins/staples holding it up, seats dirty and rough with seat covers installed at the same time as the transmission swap. The paint is as expected with peeling of the clear in many spots and some rust in expected locations. Car also has the DieselGeek skidplate with FMJ side skirts installed and we did the timing belt not that long ago, but I can't recall the mileage... Tires only have a few thousand miles on them and he powder coated the wheels a gunmetal color and they look great!
Let me know if anyone has any interest and what you guys think would be a fair selling price in as in condition. I suspect that the fuel filter "T" or O-ring is the cause of loosing prime and my son may change the filter and "T" soon, but as of now it does not start easily.
The car has a clean Tennessee title but it has had a couple accidents that were professionally repaired and repainted. One was a side impact, the other was an encounter with a deer.
It also has an HID headlight conversion with projectors installed in factory housings with glass lenses. I can't remember the TDIClub member that did the conversions, but he doesnt do them anymore, anyhow they are great and SOOOOO much better than stock!!!
I'll have him send me some current pics to post here soon.
Thanks and have a great day everyone!!!
