2001 Jetta TDI
Hello, Well I tried to change the hub and bearings on my 2001 Jetta TDI and some how I broke a U Joint or the alxe on the drive side. So I've decided to sell the car as is. It was running great before this happened. So if your handy with cars this would make a great car.

The car has 217000 miles. 2 years ago I had both front fenders and hood repainted by VW, around 7000 - 8000 miles ago i had the timing belt replaced, new glow plows, new downpipe for the exhaust, new catalytic converter, new n75, new vane actuator VNT-15/VNT-17, and new mass airflow sensor.

I would like to get $1,300.00
Here are some pictures:

Thank you

you probably just managed to pull the axle splines from the splined "spider" or inner part of the joint...nothing broken just may need a new boot and some elbow grease....

this is a great deal for a five speed car...someone should jump on it or the OP should just fix it and get 4X the asking price ....the vultures are circling~! ...:D

Maybe I'll catch some heat for saying this and ruining a great deal for someone, but a car with 217k miles is worth what, 4500-5000? And you are selling it for $1300? If say you broke an axle, that that would cost a couple of hundred to fix. You may want spend $100 on an hour of diagnostic service at a repair shop to find out what is wrong before you go make a terrible deal for yourself. Even if its a larger fix, say 1-2 thousand dollars, you would still come out thousands of dollars better than selling it for 1300...and if you don't want to deal with the car anymore, then still take it to the shop, find out the cost of repair, and subtract that from the blue book value and/or promise the buyer to have it fixed before sale.

I wish I didn't just buy 2 motors last month...
Yeah, and I just noticed that everyone interested in this is either a member or a newb. Hell, I don't blame them, its a great deal. But your reaction confirms my initial thoughts that the seller is way too low on this transaction.

Wow I never seen anyone complain for a price being too low
I never complained because the price was too low. Learn the basics of the English before you type. When you do so, you will see that there is a difference between complaining because the price is too low, and advising someone that they could possibly be overreacting to a fixable situation possibly saving them thousands of dollars. Or, you could have spent more than half a second reading what I wrote and may have stumbled across the part where I said "Hell, I don't blame them, its a great deal"...

All -

The car is sold.

I was the first to PM him roughly 1 hour after posting. I told him that I would take the car and had a few minor questions. He tells me that someone emailed his email address and they are coming to look at the car. I mention that I posted 1 hour after his post, and I would like the first attempt at purchasing the car. He then agrees that I was first to respond; and still sells the car to someone else (to whom I congratulate because they more than likely got a good deal). I only find this out after prompting him to respond by asking if it is sold, to which he replied a few days later, i think 5/3.

So, overall, a great transaction. (Is my sarcasm too subtle there?)

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar for saving the seller many calls and mail; He could have come back to his thread to inform everyone though... YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO KEEP IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

Now you will; THATS TOO LOW!

Joking aside, this is a great buy; glad someone got their meathooks on it
