Years ago after I had mine I went down to Texas for a rally and bought some Upsolute chips off Runonbeer, stuck them in my Jetta, got some .205s and danged if that little thing wouldn't run like mad, lol, stock turbo. Sniff (dabs at eyes)
might be time to try something a bit different than those caveman chips ;) (or what's currently maybe in your tdi) there's some other old timers around who would attest to that :)

Oh I don't have it anymore, the current NB is Chad from Wichita stage 1, stock, lol, caveman is right, that was a fun weekend, lol. I miss the AHU clutch setup, though. Guy to whom I sold it tried a weekend project to change the heater core, left the hood up and the firewall wide open and it rained for two days into the car, rusted out the whole fuse block and ruined it, I nearly went insane, lol. Thanks for the chat, I will try getting that black cover off in the morning, I hate trying to wedge my self under there, lol.

Lol, after I finally made a little stool by the door sill and got my fat head under there I realized that black cardboard was easy to remove and see all the wondermous opportunities to short the whole thing out, lol.. Note to Rick, do NOT turn on the ignition until you are positively absolutely done or at least ready to connect the the hot wire back to the pump...(and then he realized he didn't yet have the four pin fuel pump connector plug), :geek:

Well, I swore I would never go to Larry's Import Service here in OKC, lol, but he has one, dang him, this day off is getting interesting, lol.

Update: one step closer!

perhaps you're set on wiring it this way... but it is easy, very neat, safer from corrosion and involves no hacking or splicing....

you can make a standalone harness for it. power for relay from #30 stud in footwell, ground from footwell, add a relay 53 into the relay panel, add a fuse into an empty fuse location, run a little wire with ring terminal to fuel shutoff solenoid, and then then 2 wires from relay back to pump. all inside the car, no messy loose wires under the hood with chance of corrosion...

if you have a crimper and some new terminal ends (very cheap on mouser, digi-key etc), you can make this mini-harness without even a single solder joint :)
Hey just one question, when you wire them like this do you still run the wires to the pump down the passenger side of the car, like the install PDF does, or do you go down the driver's side?

i run the wires down the driver side. makes no sense to run on the passenger side, as the wires for my drop-in harness start at the relay panel and go out a hole in the firewall right behind there., so you're already on the driver side, so just go down that way :)

That's what I thought too, thanks!

Something I just learnt was after crimping use a soldering gun to heat the terminal and let a tiny amount of solder to get sucked into the end where you just can see the copper.
Makes a better connection.
Did this on a battery pack for one of you battery backups.
I almost fell over to find out the 2 batteries were over $70.00
