2000 jetta 1.9L tdi cranks but wont start

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and the diesel world. I have a 2000 1.9L Jetta tdi and I'm having some issues with it. The car cranks but wont fire. I just replaced the fuel filter so that's not the issue. I've also tested to see if my car is pumping fuel through the fuel filter lines and it does. Sometime's my car will start and other times it won't, so I'm not exactly sure what's going on with it. I've gone out to start it before and it works fine other times not so much. OR.... it will start and ill drive to where ever and turn it off, but when I go back out to start it the car refuses to start. PLEASE HELP!!! Also the last time it stranded me in a parking lot I was able to push start it??

Do a search on the 109 relay.

Check your Anti Shudder Valve is operating correctly or isn't stuck in the closed position. Clean the EGR Valve and IM if it is getting stuck.
