all oil changes ahead of schedule, and all using vw synthetic oil, and all (but last) were done at vw dealerships. (i did the last one)

Erm, current MSRP on that car is $16,345, as of 30 seconds ago on VW.com.

Not to rain on your parade, and it does sound like a nice car, but I think you may be a little optimistic on your price there.

thanks MM, i will re-evaluate my asking price. never hurts to start the bidding high. i did have a dealer offer $15,400. maybe there is a higher demand on the west coast right now. i can be reasonable though, someone make me a non-insulting offer and i'll most likely take it.

just for the record, mine has 18,000 miles. the green 2dr has 26k. i still think there is higher demand here. when i bought mine last year there was only one available within a 100 mile radius of portland, oregon. i checked every dealer and every classified for used and new. someone also mentioned that they are avail. new for $16,300. not here, probably delivery costs make the difference but $16,800 was sticker last summer and i would guess it's higher now. thanks though, i just might head for that dealer before the local market changes.

since you seem to know about these TDI's, are you aware of any 2.5l TDI eurovans in the country?

Based on what I've found around the country (and there isn't much), you probably aren't too far off, especially if the dealer is offering you that much. They're not know for their generosity.

If you need to unload it soon, I would go back to that dealer. If your hurry is not urgent, e-mail me and we can talk about possibilities. I think I'm still a little shocked by how little initial depreciation there is on these cars.
