OK, lets see what you guys are made of! I copied and pasted the following to a prospect and it is open game to any forum member. Blue909 refered me to the pospect. Where the heck is Lilbeato when we need him? This needs to be acted on like now because two of these havn't been availble like this since their debut in 1999. See Ya!

I got your e-mail address from Blue909 from LA. My TDI Club name is
Harvieux and I am a licensed dealer here in the Los Angeles area.
These
units are going to be offered at the Riverside Auto Auction via VWoA.
They will not be cheap because I will be bidding against VW dealers.
They will be cheaper than new and one happens to be new. I charge $500
over actual costs which consist of a buyers fee,floor fee,small amount
of interest on floor fee until cash is paid to floor line. All in all
aprox. total will be about $775 + actual auction amount of vehicle. I
will show you auction slip and all applicable charges. This must be a
cash transaction on your part and you could even fly in the day before
auction and possibly even take delivery on auction day February 08,
2001. You need to be quick in your decision and I will need a $2000
deposit from you which will not be refundable if you do not take
delivery after I purchase. All units are completely gone through by
onsite VW technicians and all defects are announced below. If you are
interested, I will go do a pre-visual inspection if prefered but I can
assure you these units are pristine.

This will be taking place on Thursday the 8th so if there is the slighest bit of interest feel free to contact me. I will do my best to buy at a decent price but I wouldn't count on it. Since our market here in SoCa is so strong,I can get away with paying a bit too much.

Hello fans! Here's the scoop on these two Golfs. The first one that ran was the 2000 GLS Auto Silver,no alloys,no cd,no sun roof,7500 miles prox. and went for $17,700 or $17,800 + sale fees,transport if less than 3 total units bought. Without totally disclosing the buyer it was a new forum member who recently listed several TDI's for sale and is in Northern California. The second unit was the 2000 Golf GLS Automatic with 135 miles full load and got a whopping $19,200 + fees. This unit was not as pristine as I would of expected due to some sort of scuff marks on the inside door panels,needed jumping and though I did not confirm, I think the same buyer bought it. In their defense they are in a ridiculously high wage earning area and will probably sell them both for more than we can buy new elsewhere (out of CA that is)! I was prepared to buy these at $16,800 and $17,500 respectively. I hope this info helps some of you in your quest of buying a slightly used TDI. I think the better deals can be had from private parties who are forum members or maintenance fanatics but expect higher miles and out of warranty issues. Later!

Yup!! TDIGuy I didn't say that either but you hit the nail on the head. I really have to know how the F!!! they can make these (2) units work with all the expenses such as air fare,meals,fees,time involved,recon (reconditioning),and most of all the what we call in this business "stupid money" paid. Can you imagine the white one going for more than $22,500 and still not even making enough to make it worth while from a major franchise standpoint? Even though I said I was prepared to pay the amount I stated above, it still would of been like going to the store to buy something for $5 and giving the cashier a $10 bill and saying "keep the change." As one forum member to another I respectfully ask them to please give me a slight hint on how the numbers work. Later!
